SHARING BEST PRACTICES FROM INDONESIA – VIRTUAL WORKSHOP ON RISK TARGETING AND RISK MEASUREMENT BETWEEN THE MINISTRY OF TRADE, INSW AND CUSTOMS

May 2021

Indonesia Customs and the Indonesia National Single Window (INSW) shared their experience about assessing data and building risk profiles of importers and exporters in Indonesia during a workshop on the topic “Risk Targeting and Risk Measurements” with more than 60 participants. The Ministry of Trade (MoT) gained fruitful insights on

  • how risk targeting and measurement were developed at DG Customs.
  • how risk scores from trade-related agencies and ministries are integrated into Indonesia’s Single Risk Management engine by the INSW.

Learning about best practices from other Indonesian agencies will help the MoT to identify guidelines for their own risk measurements and to work together with the two agencies to build and integrate their company profiles and risk scores into the Indonesia’s Single Risk Management engine.

The German Alliance project in Indonesia works on introducing a risk-based approach for trade licenses and post-border controls at the MoT, supporting Indonesia’s efforts towards a fully integrated risk management system.
