Alliance Partners Propose New Project Countries at Half-Year Working Meeting

On March 1, 2018, 34 Alliance partners gathered at the friendly invitation of Krones AG in Neutraubling for their third half-year working meeting. The aim of the meeting was to identify new opportunities for cooperation with project countries and to inform all partners present about latest developments in ongoing projects.

Daniela Zehentner-Capell (BMZ) and Christian Gnan (Krones) opened the meeting. This was followed by presentations from project managers on the current status of German Alliance projects as well as Global Alliance for trade Facilitation (GATF) projects in Ghana, Kenya and Morocco.

The core of the working meeting was the subsequent selection of country proposals for possible new projects. Companies were able to submit country proposals for new projects in advance. In this process, the Alliance’s partners made a total of 41 proposals, spread across 23 countries. Following discussions on the respective ideas, the Alliance partners agreed to make Brazil, Indonesia and Ukraine a cooperation offer for an Alliance project in 2018 to facilitate cross-border trade with these countries.

A tour of the Krones factory rounded off a successful and worthwhile working meeting. Special thanks go to Krones for the organization and realization of the event.

The Robert Bosch GmbH will host the Alliance’s next working meeting on the September 20, 2018 in Abstatt.
